Grafana Labs named a Leader again in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Observability Platforms

We’re proud of this recognition and think it reflects what we consistently hear from our users: AI is rapidly changing the observability landscape, and teams need an open and flexible platform that can help them navigate that change.

Reducing complexity in the age of AI

According to Grafana Labs’ 2026 Observability Survey, operational complexity and overhead are the top observability challenges for organizations around the world. While AI is creating new opportunities for automation and insight, it’s also reshaping the systems teams need to operate. Telemetry volumes keep growing, systems are increasingly distributed, and organizations are managing more data, more dependencies, and new points of failure that can be difficult to detect and troubleshoot.

Helping organizations address these challenges, as well as get more value from AI, has been a major focus for us over the past year. Here’s a quick look at how that focus has shaped Grafana Cloud.

Grafana Assistant: actually useful AI for your observability strategy

Grafana Assistant, the context-aware AI agent within Grafana Cloud, helps teams investigate incidents, write queries, and understand observability data using natural language. Assistant, which became generally available last year, answers questions with the telemetry you already have and uses the knowledge graph to connect signals to services, dependencies, and changes, helping accelerate root cause analysis.

Over the past several months, we’ve expanded Assistant to meet teams wherever they work, including self-managed Grafana environments, collaboration tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams, and through APIs and CLIs. We also introduced Assistant skills and automations, enabling teams to customize AI workflows, automate routine tasks, and gain insights from their observability data more efficiently.

And as AI becomes a bigger part of incident response, we continue to evolve Assistant Investigations, an autonomous investigation feature that can automatically identify potential root causes and recommend steps for remediation.

AI Observability to monitor agentic workflows

Just as much as teams need to use AI for faster troubleshooting and analysis, they also need a way to observe the LLMs and agents they’re running in production environments. To that end, we introduced AI Observability, a solution in Grafana Cloud that helps teams monitor, evaluate, and troubleshoot AI agents in production, bringing AI interactions and application telemetry together in a single platform.

We also announced o11y-bench, an open source benchmark for evaluating AI agents on real-world observability and SRE tasks.

Cost control at AI scale

Adaptive Telemetry in Grafana Cloud helps you retain high-value signals while reducing noise and controlling spend—a capability that has become even more important as AI workloads drive up data volumes.

The suite started with Adaptive Metrics and Adaptive Logs, and last year expanded to include Adaptive Traces and Adaptive Profiles. With this end-to-end suite, you can extend the benefits of the adaptive model across all core pillars of your observability strategy, ensuring every piece of telemetry you store is truly worth the investment.

What our users are saying

We are honored to be named a Leader by Gartner, but our most important feedback comes from the people using self-managed Grafana and Grafana Cloud every day.

On Gartner Peer Insights™, as of June 25, 2026:

  • Grafana Labs has an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5

  • Based on 618 verified customer reviews

  • With 90% of reviewers saying they would recommend our products

And here’s what our users are saying there:

We’re incredibly grateful to our users and community for their trust, feedback, and partnership. We’re also proud of the impact we’ve made over the past year, supporting more than 35 million users and 7,000+ customers on their observability journeys.

The future of observability is about helping teams make sense of increasingly complex systems and act on what they learn more effectively. We’ll continue to advance that future through an open and flexible platform built to meet organizations wherever they are.
